These are the 'Maximum Passenger Fares' in the table the operator links from its times and fares page. The image carries no validity date and the file dates from June 2023, so treat the figures as the most you should be charged, not as a quote. Islander and non-islander rates are listed separately; the headline is the non-islander adult single. The same image also has a second table for a separate road transport service, and those prices are not ferry fares. The operator does not say whether any booking or other charge is added. Tickets are sold at the ferry office in the Roonagh Pier car park before departure, or can be booked ahead; call +353 87 241 3783. All fares in euros (EUR).
Inishturk Passenger Ferry sails between Roonagh Pier and Inishturk, an island that its community website places 14.5 km off the Mayo coast. Roonagh is about 6 km from Louisburgh, and the crossing takes roughly 50 minutes. The same pier is used by the boats to Clare Island, which are run by other companies, so make sure the boat you board is the Inishturk ferry.
The winter timetable is short. There are two sailings in each direction every day: the first of the day leaves the island, and the boat then sails from Roonagh an hour later; in the afternoon the same pairing repeats. On Saturdays and Sundays the morning pair runs later than on weekdays, while the afternoon pair stays the same. The operator dates this timetable from 27 October to 30 March, and a separate summer timetable takes over from 31 March. Nothing different is published for Christmas or bank holidays, so phone ahead if you plan to travel then.
Tickets are sold at the Inishturk Passenger Ferry office in the Roonagh Pier car park before departure, and the community site also points visitors to advance booking. Parking is available at the pier; the community notes that summer can bring parking congestion, so arrive in good time. According to the same site, the boat has a seated top deck.
The fares the operator links are presented as maximum passenger fares rather than a price list. A non-islander adult pays up to EUR 12 single or EUR 24 return; a student card holder up to EUR 8 single; a child aged 5 to 18 up to EUR 5.50 single. Children under 5 and pensioners with a Travel Pass travel free, and pensioners without the pass pay up to EUR 8 single. Islanders have lower maximums, from EUR 5 single for an adult. The image also contains a table for a road transport service, which is a separate service and not part of the ferry fare.
When the operator's website is not loading, the phone line, +353 87 241 3783, is the way to confirm the day's sailings and the fare.
- Be at the pier in good time; on car ferries vehicles may need to arrive earlier than foot passengers.
- Check the operator's notices on the day — Atlantic wind and swell can cancel or reschedule island sailings.
- Some island operators advise booking ahead in June, July and August, and for groups.
